Now for something completely different

Because I’m not using a direct relief press, I’ve had to rethink everything. Working with Alfonso today we had a few false starts.

I’ve had to learn to use skill to achieve the results I want as opposed to my usual chance and random acts. Starting on the electric press, I’d laid down too much ink, too thick, too sticky and too much dried bits mixed in. Everything slid into a gooey mess. The dampened paper tore. We switched to the manual press to give a bit more feel, loosened the ink and laid it down more thinly. I printed this below and followed up with the ghost onto a second piece of paper. Possibly I prefer the ghost and maybe it’s finished as it is. Less is more.
